Tambi\u00e9n es el m\u00e1s fr\u00edo. Una inmensa balsa de hielo marino flota cerca de su centro y se expande durante sus inviernos largos, fr\u00edos y oscuros, y del mismo modo se reduce durante el verano, cuando el sol alcanza una mayor altura sobre el horizonte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Todos los a\u00f1os, normalmente en septiembre, la capa de hielo se reduce a su menor tama\u00f1o. El valor de 2020 fue de unos escasos\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/feature\/goddard\/2020\/2020-arctic-sea-ice-minimum-at-second-lowest-on-record\" target=\"_blank\">3,74 millones de kil\u00f3metros cuadrados<\/a>, la segunda menor cifra en 42 a\u00f1os y apenas de la mitad de la extensi\u00f3n que hab\u00eda en 1980.
