The International Association of Women Philosophers (IAPh) is an organization committed to promoting discussion, interaction, and cooperation among women in philosophy world wide. The IAPh’sXVIIth symposium will be held immediately preceding the World Congress of Philosophy taking place in Beijing, and proposes to celebrate women’s diverse historical and contemporary contributions to philosophy, and to highlight the work of female philosophers in all branches of philosophical and feminist inquiry.
Particularly, they are invited papers that reflect on globalization and the history of women’s engagement with philosophy and feminism in Asia, Europe, the Americas, Australasia, Africa, and elsewhere, during the past forty-two years, and back to the earliest periods. The conference theme, ‘Women and Philosophy in the Era of Globalization’ is intended to capture the broad scope of contemporary research on historical women philosophers, on feminist ethics, aesthetics, and politics, and on questions of feminist epistemology in multiple cultures. Submissions in other areas of philosophy and feminist theory are also welcome.

Abstracts of no more than 300 words, accompanied by a biographical note of 100 words, should be sent to the organizers (iaph-symposium@tsinghua.edu.cn or karen.green@unimelb.edu.au) by 28 February 2018. Acceptances will be sent out by mid April 2018.

For this conference the IAPh expect that the principal languages will be English and Chinese. Should speaks prefer to present in one of the other official
