PHYSIS: the Research Group in Analytic Metaphysics at Complutense University of Madrid invites those interested to attend the Online PHYSIS Spring Lectures in Analytic Metaphysics 2022 to be given by Otávio Bueno on the topic of the no-category ontology.

Lecture One. Ontological Categories: What They Are, What They Can Be. An examination of the nature and function of ontological categories and the need for alternative ways of understanding them.

– March 15, 2022: Categories and Ontological Commitment: the topic will be the question of ontological commitment to categories in connection with indispensability and dispensability arguments.

– March 16, 2022: Categories and Theoretical Virtues: the subject will be the issue concerning the relation between categories and theoretical virtues.

– March 17, 2022: Categories and Concepts: the theme will be the conceptual role of categories in ontology and metaphysics.
